70% Tempranillo, 30% Graciano/La Rioja: Estate-owned vineyards planted between 1926-1976. Proprietary head
trained and trellised vineyards planted in high altitude areas of Rioja Alta. Calcareous clay & alluvial. Grapes are sorted extensively at the winery in 2000L open top oak fermenters. Berries ferment in 5,000L stainless steel tanks, whereas malolactic fermentation occurs in new French barrique. Aged 24 months in French oak, 16 of which are in new French oak. We visited the winery & know the owner.
